Guanacaste's dry season (December–April) means sunny days, dusty roads and peak demand for every day trip. The green season (May–November) brings afternoon rain, green hills and fuller waterfalls. Río Celeste's color can turn murky after heavy rain, so keep a flexible day in your plan.
From late December through Easter, Río Celeste and Rincón de la Vieja day trips fill days ahead. All eight of our picks offer free 24-hour cancellation on Viator, so book early and keep your plans flexible.

On the coast, add a Tamarindo catamaran or Catalina Islands snorkeling. All of them are in our top eight with verified prices.
Plan for a full day. The tour we feature runs about 12 hours with a pickup around 7:30 am, and some areas pay an extra per-booking pickup fee.
